Protecting Prop 13!

David runs the Board of Equalization’s Southern California office.

The Board of Equalization administers California’s property tax system. Property taxes fund schools, community services, local amenities such as parks, beaches and emergency services.

My Top Priorities

Support Owner-Occupied Home Ownership

The family home is one of the few avenues for working and middle class families to build wealth.

Protecting the Rights of Taxpayers

Closing loopholes and providing transparency and access to build public trust and cooperation.

Supporting the Department & the Assessors…

in their constitutional duty to fairly administer California’s property tax system.

Is it already time to go back to school? Yes, it is.

As we engage in the annual scramble to return to the classroom it is important to keep in mind where school funding comes from. Property taxes are a major source of school funding in California. The Board of Equalization was established in 1879 to oversee California’s Property Tax system. As a Board of Equalization property tax appraiser for thirty years, I have enjoyed a career in protecting property tax rights while ensuring that property tax assessments produce the needed revenues. As your elected Board of Equalization Member I will continue my service by ensuring fair treatment of taxpayers and diligent assessment of property to bring resources to our schools. Please vote for David Dodson. I will put my experience, expertise, and knowledge of our property tax system to work for all Californians.
