Protecting Prop 13!

David runs the Board of Equalization’s Southern California office.

The Board of Equalization administers California’s property tax system. Property taxes fund schools, community services, local amenities such as parks, beaches and emergency services.

My Top Priorities

Support Owner-Occupied Home Ownership

The family home is one of the few avenues for working and middle class families to build wealth.

Protecting the Rights of Taxpayers

Closing loopholes and providing transparency and access to build public trust and cooperation.

Supporting the Department & the Assessors…

in their constitutional duty to fairly administer California’s property tax system.

Staying Off My Surfboard For Now

This morning I had surgery for a rotator cuff tear. My shoulder had been bothering me for over 15 years.

Over the years I tried ice, anti-inflammatories, cortisone injections, physical therapy and rest. As an avid surfer and physically active person, I found rest the most difficult therapy. However, when the pandemic closed the gyms in California for a year I realized I needed to look into other options. An MRI revealed my rotator cuff needed to be repaired. I had Arthroscopic surgery to repair my rotator cuff. The recovery will keep me out of the ocean and away from the gym for a while. But I am looking forward to getting back to a pain-free regular life soon. I am still vigorously campaigning to win the race for Board of Equalization.
