Protecting Prop 13!

David runs the Board of Equalization’s Southern California office.

The Board of Equalization administers California’s property tax system. Property taxes fund schools, community services, local amenities such as parks, beaches and emergency services.

My Top Priorities

Support Owner-Occupied Home Ownership

The family home is one of the few avenues for working and middle class families to build wealth.

Protecting the Rights of Taxpayers

Closing loopholes and providing transparency and access to build public trust and cooperation.

Supporting the Department & the Assessors…

in their constitutional duty to fairly administer California’s property tax system.

San Diego Meet & Greet Was A Success!

I enjoyed meeting with friends and supporters at the Green Flash Brewery in San Diego for a meet and greet and discussion about issues of importance to the Board of Equalization. I will continue to have more gatherings to reach out to voters and provide information on my campaign and what I can bring to the Board of Equalization.

Many of the questions asked by guests were about the recent implementation of Proposition 19. Guests were concerned that the initiative would eliminate their ability to pass their family homes to their children because the children would not be able to afford the market based property taxes in the expensive California real estate climate. Others were concerned about how a split roll initiative could affect the economy. Challenges to Proposition 13 were also discussed as well as how to provide adequate revenues for schools and local communities.
